From Jen's desk via Joan's email:

Dear Affiliates,

Thank you for your continued trust in Dr. Andrew Holzman and TLC Tysons Corner.  We had a big 2012, but we're looking forward to an even bigger 2013 as we continue to serve your patients' laser vision correction needs.

Starting this week, Dr. Holzman has changed his topical NSAID of choice to be Acular LS.  This change was made to help patients contain medication costs while maintaining the same excellent level of care that you have come to expect from Dr. Holzman.  Patients coming into our Centers this week and onward will be given prescriptions for Acular LS.  However, if your patient was seen for initial consultation before this week, you may still see that these patients are using Bromday.

How patients use this medication will be exactly as it was for our previous use of Bromday - bid in each surgical eye starting the day before surgery and continuing through the end of post-op day 1 for LASIK patients and until after BCL removal for PRK patients.  Your management of the patient's care will not be affected in any way.

Please take the time to visit OD Central, your Affiliate website, to reference the most updated forms designed to help you during this transition in drop protocols.  You will find updated pre-op and post-op exam sheets.  Using these updated forms will be a great help to the surgical team.  Also, you will find updated pre- and post-op drop schedules, in case you would like to reference what your patients are receiving.

Here is a link to OD Central, if you don’t already have it saved as one of your favorite sites!

As always, please contact us in any way that is convenient for you if you have questions about this protocol change.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this transition.
