Support the Foundation Fighting Blindness' Vision Walk

posted Apr 24, 2012, 6:10 PM by Jen Weigel

It's interesting to learn about the different ways that each of our Affiliates gives back to our community!  Dr. Finley's Family Eyecare has been a strong supporter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness' Vision Walk.  This walk is unique in that participants are walking side-by-side with those affected by eye diseases.  "It's pretty touching when you see so many kids and adults with walking canes and guide dogs," Dr. Finley said.  - jw

Learn more about how you can support the Vision Walk here:

Dr. Finley's Family Eyecare is a partner in the annual Vision Walk for The Foundation Fighting Blindness.

FFB is a national eye research organization that is dedicated to finding treatments and cures for Retinitis Pigmentosa and other retinal degenerative diseases. FFB does critical research that may one day lead to the cure of these diseases through innovative treatments like gene therapy, pharmaceutical therapy, nutrition, drug delivery and retinal cell transplantation.

Once again, we are organizing a team to walk at this year's annual event and we want to invite you to walk with us.

When: Saturday, May 5th, 10:00am

Where: Brown's Chapel Park in Reston, VA

Contact: Patricia at Dr. Finley's 703-471-7810

For details go to the website: and then click on the Northern Virginia walk.

If you cannot walk, please consider sponsoring us for this very important event.  Please make your check payable to Foundation Fighting Blindness and send it to us at: 709 Pine Street, Herndon, VA 20170.  Each and every dollar "walks" us toward a cure.

In the past years, several of our patients contributed to our team.  We want to extend a great big thank you to them and to those who will participate this year!
