TLC's Gold Standard

TLC is rolling out a new program to raise the bar on patient services throughout each of its Centers.  Today, we participated in one aspect of the Gold Standard program which involved having another Center came to visit us for the day.  Afterward, we had a frank discussion about what we do right and what we can do better.

Thank you so much to TLC Piedmont (South Carolina) team members Mrs. Lee Ann Baker, Center Manager, and Dr. Derek Van Veen, Regional Clinical Director, for coming all the way up to Tysons Corner to visit all of us.  You came on a busy day with two optometrists seeing patients in addition to a morning full of surgery cases with Dr. Holzman.  

One of the things that I love best about being part of the TLC family is that the company places a high priority on constantly improving.  So, even though we are the best refractive surgery corporation - and Center (I am so biased) - in the entire solar system, there is still room to be better!

From today's discussion, we found ways to improve our communication with you, our strong Affiliate Network.  We are very privileged to have such a talented Network.  Its easy taking care of your well-educated patients!  We also found ways to improve our flow and efficiency on Saturdays.  Like in your offices, our Saturdays are a totally different animal from a regular weekday of clinic.  It's a lot faster paced and sometimes plain crazy.  Hopefully our action plans will improve our system.

If you ever have an idea on how to improve the way TLC Tysons works for you and your office, don't be shy.  Just communicate your needs to us, and we'll try our best to met them!  - jw
