VOA Fall Conference, Williamsburg, VA

The VOA Fall Conference was held at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA, this weekend, October 24-25, 2015.  What a great conference, both for its education and the beautiful views of the James River!

A big shout out to first-time Fall Conference planner, Dr. Amber Hurley from Marion, VA, for a great meeting.  (I actually found out that this was also her first time to attend a VOA meeting.)  Everything went so smoothly.  A great combination of lecturers covering different topics and some nice breaks to allow for catching up with friends.

My favorite lecture was a pediatric lecture by Dr. Kenneth Westcott from Chesapeake, VA. I don't get to see pediatric patients much at TLC (aside from maybe the occasional kid that tags along with mom and dad for a LVC consultation, but even then, I'm only saying hi, maybe letting the older kids take a peek through the slit lamp), so this was a great refresher on how vision develops!

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the VOA One-Day CE coming up in Richmond on Sunday, January 31, 2016.  - jw
