James Smeriglio, OD

Dr. James Smeriglio is the Clinical Director at TLC's Rockville center.  Dr. Smeriglio received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Fairfield University in 1985 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1990. After nine years in private practice, Dr. Smeriglio joined TLC to specialize in refractive surgery.

Dr. Smeriglio has served as an investigator in FDA clinical trials and lectured on wavefront technology.  He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Maryland Optometric Association.


Jo Angeles, OD
Clinical Director, TLC DC

Dr. Angeles is a native Washingtonian.  She earned her Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Biology from Villanova University in Pennsylvania and pursued graduate studies at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA.  She graduated from PCO and has been practicing in the DC area since 1996.  Dr. Angeles has worked in the private practice setting as well as corporate-affiliated settings in the area; she has experience in primary care optometry, contact lenses and refractive surgery. As an independent contractor, she helped to open the Refractive Surgery Center at the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) in Bethesda in 2000.  In 2006, she joined the TLC team and currently supports the TLC Rockville and DC centers.  She is a member of the American Optometric Association and DC Optometric Association.  In her free time she enjoys traveling, cooking and golf.


Todd
Regional Manager

Todd has worked with TLC since 2000 and has played an integral part of the Regional Management team during his tenure.  During his time with TLC, Todd has been fiercely committed to ensuring every patient experience the highest level of patient care and customer service.  Originally from Pennsylvania, Todd is a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, golf fanatic and music lover.  

In July 2018, Todd was selected to be our new Regional Manager.  His wealth of TLC knowledge will serve him well in this new role.  Congratulations, Todd!




Tammy
Professional Relations Consultant

Tammy had been a long-time surgical consultant here at the Rockville center, but in June 2018, she sought new challenges and became TLC Rockville's Professional Relations Consultant. She’s originally from New York but considers Maryland her home for many years. "It’s a true pleasure to be surrounded by the best in technology, friendly and professional staff and truly skilled corneal surgeon. All these components help to make our team a family.”

As PRC, Tammy will serve as a liaison between TLC Rockville and Affiliates.  Congratulations on your new role!



Ben 
Ophthalmic and surgical technician

Ben is an ophthalmic technician at TLC Rockville.  He has been with TLC since 1999.  He is also a satisfied LASIK patient, having had the procedure himself in 1999.  Ben is a native of Richmond, VA, and a graduate of the University of Maryland.  He is a die-hard Redskins fan.  Ben truly enjoys the work he does and the people that he has helped over the years.




Lee 

Ophthalmic technician, TLC Rockville and DC

For twelve years, Lee has traveled between multiple area TLC centers, providing outstanding support to staff and patients in roles ranging from consult center manager, patient counselor, and ophthalmic technician. He complements the patient care process with his kindness and gift at putting patients at ease to obtain the vital tests necessary to perform Laser Vision Corrective Surgery. Lee can also be seen representing TLC in the community by providing on-site support at TLC educational seminars such as Lunch and Learns and Health Fairs. His supporting role has expanded to After Hour TLC Functions including CE nights for TLC Affiliate Physicians in the community.
