Dr. Holzman Speaks at Retina Group of Washington Lecture Series

Dr. Holzman presented a lecture on current topics in refractive surgery care on June 6 at Sea Pearl Restaurant for the Retina Group of Washington.

The new iFS IntraLase laser has proven to be all that it was hyped up to be. Dr. Holzman loves it's ability to make faster, more stable LASIK flaps. The other cool thing is that the iFS can create oval flaps to better match the ablation pattern for with-the-rule cylinder patients which, as you know, makes up a large proportion of our patient population. Dr. Holzman also hit on questions that everyone - doctors and patients alike - tends to ask. Do large pupils affect one's candidacy? Not with IntraLase and today's advanced lasers. What about the classic torture of early PRK healing that patients often find described on the internet? Nope, Dr. Holzman's patients tend to be pretty comfortable with his pain management techniques.
