Dr. Peter Ellis, Falls Church

Dr. Peter Ellis was able to visit the Tysons Corner center just in time to earn last-minute CE credits. During his clinical and surgical observation, we were able to review many of the considerations for pre- and post-op laser vision correction co-management. An experienced provider, of course, most of this served as a refresher for Dr. Ellis.

While some things like requirement of a reflectively stable patient are obviously the same, some things are quite new. For instance, an optometrist that visited us in the first quarter will not have seen the Alcon femtosecond laser that we had installed in May 2014. So, you can always visit the center for a refractive update. Wink, wink.

The evening before Dr. Ellis' visit, I had a scary encounter with a huge deer on the side of Gallows Road. It was very dark and misting, so it would have been very easy to miss the deer who seemed to be observing traffic from the sidewalk, being careful to look left then right then left again. Dr. Ellis told me stories of how deer often visit his yard in search of fruit from his trees. - jw
